Field Labs for Professional Development

Experimenting with professional development activities

Educational innovations with ICT

Real acceleration does not take place in the zone, but rather within higher education institutions themselves. It is for this reasons that the Facilitating Professional Development for Lecturers zone is designing a professional development offering centred around specific innovations. The field labs are designed around four themes: peer feedback, online didactics, learning analytics and formative testing. This offering is then tested within the participants’ own institutions. These “Field Labs for Professional Development” encompass experimental professional development activities where teachers and support staff develop and work on specific educational innovations with IT.

Blended Education Field lab

Blended (or hybrid) education is now commonplace in higher education. The term ‘blended’ emphasises the combination of online and face-to-face activities and resources in education. What does such a combination actually look like? And how do you realise a mix within your own education that is effective, efficient and attractive for both student and lecturer? Both questions and corresponding answers are central to this field lab.

AI in Higher Education Field Lab

AI offers many opportunities, and so too in higher education. With this field lab, the zone, therefore, addresses the question: How do you (as a lecturer) deploy Artificial Intelligence, in your education? The field lab contains a work package with the method of the professional development approach. In addition, the zone also makes handy documents available: from an email for recruiting jedi to the preparation module. You can download all the components of the field lab below.
